The Festival Chorus
THE CHOIR, THE BAND, THE DRAMA GROUP
The choir was founded eleven years ago. Originally the choir was formed by Bridlington Churches Together with members of some 15 local church choirs coming together to form the choir. It became the Festival Chorus to encourage people living in local communities to join the choir. Today the majority of members are still associated with local churches and we are proud to say that most churches denominations are represented in the choir along with non-church members. We are a mixed choir of about 50 members and all are welcomed to join our friendly choir.
But we are not just a choir we have our own band. We currently have 10 players - piano, keyboards, violins, cello, flutes, clarinets, oboe, guitar, bass guitar and brass, which help bring the performances to life. We are always on the lookout for more musicians to join the band so whatever instrument you play if would like to join us why not give us a call.
Our productions are built around gospel musicals. These are two hour shows. They not only include the choir but they also include integrated acting performances. We are always looking for people with not only an interest in singing but are interesting in taking part in the supporting play.
We will be announcing shortly our plans for the 2020 production. Once this has been published we will meet each Thursday evening from September to the performances at the end of November and the beginning of December. Our aim is to bring the productions to local communities and we do this by performing the production in various local churches in and around the East Riding.
Further details will be posted as they become available.
